European Table Tennis Title

This year we celebrate 5 years since the Portuguese table tennis team won the European title, in Portugal! The event took place in the largest performance space in the country – the Altice Arena, formerly MEO Arena and Pavilhão Altântico.

It was more precisely on September 28, 2014, that Portugal won the title of European champion for the first – and only – time, against a strong and imposing Germany – six-time European champion.

The game

It took more than two and a half hours of play for the National Team to defeat Germany 3-1. This one was European champion six times in a row.

The figures of this event, remember, were Marcos Freitas and Tiago Apolónia, for having granted victories to Portugal. Marcos Freitas two and Tiago Apolónia one. The European title in table tennis is due to the entire team and staff, but more precisely to those who were the stars of the night.
