There was no lack of support for the Portuguese team, as the game was held in Póvoa do Varzim. Sold out at the “poveiro” municipal pavilion for the third and final round of Group 4 access to the Handball World Cup, to be played in Germany and Denmark, between January 9th and 17th, 2019.

Portugal started the match well, motivated by the two previous results: two victories against Cyprus (47-16) and Kosovo (36-22). Players Gilberto Duarte and Pedro Portela stood out. On their account alone, the scorer worked 12 times, giving strength to the final result: 27-27.
